Who is Interactive Medical Systems?
We are a professional benefits administrator providing innovative claims processing, reporting,
and consulting services for employee benefit programs. Pressures to reduce the spiraling costs
of medical care while increasing performance have led to a revolution in the financing and
delivery of medical care and related benefits. Interactive Medical Systems has been a leader in
helping employers design benefit packages that save money while providing the best possible
health care for their employees.
Our organization consists of individuals with extensive experience in administration, employee
benefits, claims administration, and marketing. We are a service-oriented company devoted to
providing you with the necessary assistance to become partially self-funded, or fully insured
if you prefer.
Management
Eric C. Ludwig
President & CEO
Mr. Ludwig has an extensive work history in the Benefits and Human Resources field.
He worked with Interactive Medical Systems from 1986 until 1992, where he held positions
from Account Representative to Vice President of Administration. From 1992 until 2000,
he worked in Manufacturing, Service and Healthcare and held various positions in Human Resources
ranging from Corporate Benefits Manager to Director of Human Resources. In 2000 he returned to
IMS as President and CEO.
Mr. Ludwig is a member of Society of Professional Benefit Administrators (SPBA), the Self Insurance
Institute of America (SIIA), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He has served on
the SIIA Educational Task Force and holds a Life Certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources
(SPHR) from SHRM. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Delta Dental Plan of NC, and TPA Resource Group.
Mr. Ludwig received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a double major in Finance
and in Insurance and Economic Security, from the University of South Carolina.
Brent Monroe
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Monroe oversees the company's administrative and service operations including; claims adjudication,
information systems, data analysis and reporting, and HIPAA security and privacy compliance.
Mr. Monroe is a member of Society of Professional Benefit Administrators (SPBA).
Mr. Monroe received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science Education from Wingate University.
He also holds a Master of Arts degree in History from East Carolina University.
Judith A. Hall
Claims Manager
Ms. Hall has over 25 years work experience in benefits, claims administration and human resources.
She has worked with IMS since 1998 and manages all facets of our claims and customer service operations.
She is also responsible for staff development, quality improvement, and quality enhancement.
Ms. Hall successfully completed HIAA – A & B, ICA, Dean Vaughn Medical Terminology Course, LOMA 1 & 2,
multiple management seminars on diverse topics and is certified in ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding.
Candy Whitaker
Director, Client Services & HR Outsourcing
Ms. Whitaker joined IMS in 1998 as a Claims Adjuster. Until 2007, she held an account servicing position; which
included marketing, project management, and customer service. She currently manages the Client
Services & HR Outsourcing Department. Ms. Whitaker assists IMS customers by providing a multitude of
services that insure the quality and timeliness of benefit plan management from direct client service,
marketing, coordination of vendor and stop loss insurance placement, presentations, plan management and
renewal guidance, and new group implementation.
Ms. Whitaker has also worked in Human Resources and holds a Professional in Human Resources certification.
Ms. Whitaker received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Policy and Administration from The
Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Business Administration from Meredith College.
